About Luca Milone, MD, FACS
As the Director of Robotic Surgery, Dr. Milone believes that every patient deserves access to the highest level of care along with the latest technology available. Dr. Milone has authored more than 100 publications, mainly focused in the development of new surgical technologies, including peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and several presentations at national and international meetings. He also created an approved U.S. patent for a robotic device that can be used in endoscopic surgery. After completing his surgery training at the Università di Genova in Italy and obtaining the Italian Board of Surgery Certification, Dr. Milone completed his surgical residency at The Brooklyn Hospital Center. He also completed multiple fellowships — a research fellowship in laparoscopic surgery at New York–Presbyterian Hospital and two clinical fellowships in minimally invasive and robotic surgery and robotic transplant surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Milone is board-certified in surgery.
