New Chief Nurse Executive at The Brooklyn Hospital Center

The Brooklyn Hospital Center (TBHC) is pleased to announce that Kimberly F. Volpe, DNP, MS, RN, NEA-BC, has been appointed Chief Nurse Executive.
“Dr. Volpe has been an exceptional nurse leader with more than 20 years of hospital setting experience,” says Gary G. Terrinoni, TBHC’s President and CEO. “She has extensive leadership skills, proven excellence in process reengineering, and a track record of fostering clinical excellence, comradery and high retention of talent. We are delighted to welcome her to the TBHC family!”
Dr. Volpe comes to TBHC from Montefiore Medical Center-Wakefield, where she was Senior Director of Nursing, Medicine/Surgery/Maternal Child Health and Nursing Staff Office. She led nursing practice, operations and provided strategic direction of that 321-bed acute care hospital. Among her many accomplishments, she oversaw The Joint Commission triennial survey resulting in zero nursing recommendations for improvement.
Prior to that, she served various nursing leadership roles at One Brooklyn Heath, NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital, and Hackensack Meridian Health. In addition, she was also an adjunct professor in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program at New York University Rory Meyers College of Nursing.
Dr. Volpe graduated from Montclair State University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and from University of Medicine and Dentistry/Ramapo College of NJ, with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She completed her master’s degree in nursing administration at New York University Rory Meyers College of Nursing and her Doctorate of Nursing Practice at Villanova University.
She is an active member of New York Organization for nursing Leadership and served as Regional Past President for the Greater New York Nassau Suffolk Organization for Nursing Leadership.
