The Brooklyn Hospital Foundation Welcomes Six New Trustees

The Brooklyn Hospital Foundation is proud to announce six new members to its Board of Trustees in May and June 2021. The Foundation’s Board is a diverse body made up of community leaders dedicated to advancing medical care and patient experience at The Brooklyn Hospital Center (TBHC).

“I am delighted to welcome these trustees. They bring an incredible depth of knowledge in diverse areas of expertise, and I am deeply grateful that they have chosen to share their skills and passion with us,” says Dino J. Veronese, Chairman, The Brooklyn Hospital Foundation. “We share a commitment to ensuring patients’ access to quality healthcare, regardless of ability to pay. With them, the Foundation looks forward to Keeping Brooklyn Healthy.”

Charles Adams, Senior Partner,Patrick F. Adams, PC

Mr. Adams handles corporate and commercial transactions, general counsel matters and general practice issues such as wills and estates, healthcare proxies, and real estate matters. He was formerly a staff attorney with the Legal Aid Society of Suffolk County and served as General Counsel to St. George’s University, Limited, Grenada, West Indies, for more than 20 years. 

Serena Dang, VicePresident, 1Sharpe Ventures

Ms. Dang works for this venture capital arm of 1Sharpe Capital, dedicated to investing in and growing early stage PropTech startups. Previously, she was Vice President at Nomura Securities.

Martha Bakos Dietz, Trustee, The Brooklyn Hospital Center

In addition to her service on TBHC’s Board, Ms. Bakos Dietz has served on the Board of Trustees of Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, where she headed the Development and Nominating Committees and served on the Executive Committee. Previously, she taught legal writing and research at the Brooklyn Law School.

James Gasperino, MD, Chair of Medicine, Chief of Critical Care, Associate Chief Medical Officer, The Brooklyn Hospital Center

Dr. Gasperino is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary diseases, critical care medicine, neurocritical care, hospice and palliative medicine, and nutrition support.

Lesia Bates Moss, President and CEO,Bates Consulting Group (formerly LBM & Associates)

Ms. Bates Moss is founder and CEO of a boutique management consulting firm based in Brooklyn, New York. Previously, she served in senior client-facing roles with several Fortune 500 companies, including JP Morgan Chase (formerly Chemical Banking Corporation), Moody’s Investors Service, Fannie Mae and Marsh McLennan Companies, and as president of SEEDCO Financial Services, a national community development financial institution (CDFI).

Carlos P. Naudon, President and CEO, Ponce Bank

Previously, Mr. Naudon was a consultant and compliance counsel to Ponce De Leon Federal Bank and a partner in the law firm of Allister & Naudon. He has served on TBHC’s Board since 1991, and served as Chairman from 2015 to 2018.
