At TBHC, your health and the health of your child before, during and after childbirth is of our utmost concern. Whether you are seeking routine sonography and other perinatal diagnostic tests, or management of a high-risk complex pregnancy, we have the programs and specialists to take care of you. Services include:

Reproductive Genetics Specialists, who work with your obstetrician and our maternal-fetal specialist to offer genetic counseling for a variety of indications including:

  • Advanced maternal age (women who will be 35 or older at the expected time of delivery).
  • Positive maternal serum screen (blood test during pregnancy showing an increased risk for a neural tube defect/spina bifida or Down syndrome in the fetus).
  • Fetal anomalies detected on sonogram.
  • Exposure of pregnant women to potential mutagens or teratogens during pregnancy (medications, radiation, chemicals, infectious agents, alcohol, illicit drugs).
  • Family or personal history of a known or suspected genetic condition (such as cystic fibrosis, fragile X syndrome, muscular dystrophy, neurofibromatosis, sickle cell anemia, neural tube defect/spina bifida, congenital heart disease, cleft lip/palate). 

Perinatal Testing includes new, state-of-the art equipment and a wide range of services such as transabdominal and transvaginal ultrasound, utero-placental and fetal placental Doppler for high-risk pregnancies, amniocentesis, Chorionic Villus Sampling (CVS), and fetal echocardiogram, among others.

Sonography and other diagnostics for non-pregnancy related diagnoses are available, such as for ectopic pregnancies, miscarriages and other gynecological conditions.

Maternal-Fetal Physician and Nurse Practitioner team who manage all diagnostics and care for high-risk pregnancies, such as placenta accreta, diabetes in pregnancy, repetitive pregnancy loss, preterm labor and other conditions. Pre-pregnancy counseling, expertise in diabetic and diet counseling, and ongoing virtual support are available.

Infant care, with collaboration and referrals to our broad range of pediatric subspecialists, pediatricians and neonatologists so that care for your child is seamless from pregnancy through delivery and beyond.
