TBHC’s Leaders Gary G. Terrinoni and Dr. Antonio Mendez Recognized for Their Contributions

Many of the staff at The Brooklyn Hospital Center (TBHC) have had a positive impact on their communities and ALL of the staff served heroically during the recent Covid-19 crisis this spring. Two TBHC leaders recently were specifically lauded by City & State NY.

On September 20, the publication honored “Brooklyn Heroes,” and included TBHC’s Vice Chair of Emergency Medicine, Antonio Mendez, MD, among the group of only eight. The section recounted how Dr. Mendez continued with his duties in the Emergency Room despite losing his mother-in-law and mother to the disease and after it sickened his wife, father and sister.

On the following day, September 21, TBHC President and CEO Gary G. Terrinoni landed on the magazine’s “Brooklyn Power 50,” at number 10. The story reported how Mr. Terrinoni helped steer the hospital through the pandemic, while keeping an eye on the institution’s future.

TBHC is proud that our staff at all levels continues to contribute to Keeping Brooklyn Healthy, and now, more than ever, as we continue to face the pandemic’s challenges.
