The Brooklyn Hospital Foundation Hosts Its First VIRTUAL Founders Ball
October 15, 2020
On Monday, October 26, The Brooklyn Hospital Foundation will host its first ever VIRTUAL Founders Ball event. The celebration recognizes The Brooklyn Hospital Center’s 175th anniversary — an important milestone in the hospital’s continuous history of serving the people of Brooklyn — and honors healthcare heroes who worked around the clock battling the COVID-19 crisis with skill, dedication and bravery.
The 2020 VIRTUAL Founders Ball will recognize Sylvie de Souza, MD, Chair, Emergency Medicine, for her extraordinary courage and leadership during the crisis. Funds raised from generous supporters will help expand and modernize the Emergency Department and will enable additional modifications needed to reduce the spread of infectious diseases such as COVID-19.
In addition to an uplifting program and heartfelt stories from the front lines, the celebration will include a follow-along cooking demonstration led by celebrity chef, Georgette Farkas, and a Zoom dance party following the event where all guests are invited to virtually participate.
For guests wishing to get the celebration started early, a Pre-Event Party Lounge is now open and offers:
- Festive fall cocktails
- Cooking demonstration recipe
- Photomosaic created by guests’ favorite photos
- Treasures from the Attic: featuring unique artifacts from the Hospital’s archive
The 2020 VIRTUAL Founders Ball is open to everyone and will live stream from foundersball.org. Please visit the website to support TBHC’s healthcare heroes, purchase an event sponsorship or enjoy the Pre-Event Party Lounge.
