Application Information

We want to thank you for your interest in TBHC’s General Surgery Residency Program.  

Our program participates in the National Residency Match Program (NRMP) system for recruiting residents as a first year.  

At this time, the criteria for our program is as follows:

Three Categorical Positions
Six Preliminary Positions

A COMPLETE application, which includes:

MD

• USLME Step 1–230+ 2 attempts only
• USLME Step 2–230+ 1st attempt
• USLME Step 2 CS–MUST PASS 1st attempt

DO

• COMLEX Step 1–500+ 1st attempt
• COMLEX Step 2–500+ 1st attempt
• COMLEX Step 2 CE–MUST PASS 1st attempt

J1 VISA sponsorship only 
Graduate from medical school 5 years
A minimum of 3 letters of recommendation, preferably Chair, Program Director and/or Preceptor/Mentor/Supervisor

You may apply via the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS).  

Application MUST be complete before offering an interview. Any applications considered incomplete will be placed on hold.
