How to Apply/Contact Us

Our motto, “The Remedy is Experience,” reflects the overall mission of our program.

The purpose of our postgraduate year one (PGY-1) residency program is to develop accountability, practice patterns and habits, as well as expert knowledge, skills, attitudes and abilities in pharmacy practice. These programs will build upon Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY-2) pharmacy residency training.

The purpose of our PGY-2 programs is to build upon the broad-based competencies achieved in a PGY-1 residency, deepening the resident's ability to provide care in the most complex of cases or in the support of care through practice leadership. Residents will have the opportunity to function independently as practitioners by conceptualizing and integrating accumulated experience and knowledge and transforming both into improved medication therapy for patients. Upon completion of this program, the resident should possess the competencies that enable attainment of board certification and qualify for a career path in their respective specialty area.

Application Process

Step 1: Learn about our program here, and at the ASHP Residency Directory website.

Step 2: Apply to our programs through PhORCAS.

Step 3: If selected, come to an on-site interview during late January or February.

Step 4: Rank us in the National Residency Matching Program.

Please Note: Three references are required. One should be from a faculty member or preceptor. The ASHP reference form in PhORCAS is required. If your reference writer would like to ALSO send a traditional letter of reference, we welcome such letters. Letters should be addressed to the individual program directors and sent from a business or academic email account to TBHCRxRes@gmail.com as a PDF document.

PGY-1 Program

On-site interviews for PGY-1 candidates are by invitation only.

After your application is reviewed and an interview is granted, you will receive a link to our self-service scheduling website to choose your date. We regret that we are only able to interview 24 candidates for our five PGY-1 positions. Those that are not granted an interview will be placed on a wait list and will be considered for on-site interviews if others do not accept their invitation. If you do not receive an invitation by mid-February, please accept our regrets and our wishes for your successful endeavors elsewhere.

Important note regarding international candidates and candidates with work visas: Our PGY-1 program is a 55-week long program; as such, we are unable to accept candidates who are seeking a one-year extension on their F-1 visa or who are seeking a J-1 visa. These visas would expire prior to the completion of the residency program. In addition, the hospital does not currently provide sponsorship for pharmacy residents seeking any visas. Anyone applying who falls into this status will not be granted an interview.

PGY-2 Programs

On-site interviews for PGY-2 candidates are by invitation only and occur during February.

After your application is reviewed and an interview is granted, you will receive a link to our self-service scheduling website to choose your date. Those that are not granted an interview will be placed on a wait list and will be considered for on-site interviews if others do not accept their invitation. If you do not receive an invitation by early March, please accept our regrets and our wishes for your successful endeavors elsewhere.

Please note that we have NOT provided an early commitment for our PGY-2 programs. We ARE recruiting for each of the programs.
