About Keith D. Cummings, MD
Dr. Cummings attended medical school at the University of Guyana, completed his internship at Grenada General Hospital in the West Indies, and finished his family medicine residency at The Brooklyn Hospital Center. He also completed a fellowship in hospital medicine at the University of Alabama.
In 2019, he received U.S. Congressional recognition for his excellence in patient care. Also in 2023, he received several prestigious awards, including the Kaieteur Award of Distinction at the Guyana 57th Independence Anniversary Celebration in New York, New York State of Assembly Citation, Congressional Proclamation at Guyana 57th Independence Anniversary Celebration, Lifetime Achievement Award for Outstanding Medical Service in New York and Guyana, New York City Council Medical Service Award, and The City of New York Certificate of Recognition for Community Engagement and Service.
In 2024, he received an additional U.S. congressional recognition, a citation of honor from the office of the President of Borough of Queens and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the President of the United States for volunteer Service.
Dr. Cummings is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, an Adjunct Associate Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Guyana, and an Associate Professor of Family Medicine at St. George's University School of Medicine in Grenada.
Dr. Cummings is board-certified in family medicine and hospital medicine.
